The train to Toronto makes two stops in Buffalo at modern, modest little terminals. The train doesn’t stop at this art deco giant, the abandoned and deteriorating New York Central Terminal. It reminds me that this region once played a big role in the state and national economy and that goods and people travelled great distances by boat and by train. It makes me wonder what bustling transportation hubs of today are going to be the dinosaurs of tomorrow. And it makes me a little bit excited to see what new uses Buffalo dreams up for this old, magestic building.
