Main Street, Anywhere, USA

I live in a town that has a Main Street. It seems so quintessentially American. Of course, there are American flags. And diagonal parking. It’s pretty much exactly what you might imagine Main Street to look like.

This picture was taken at the intersection of Main and Seneca. There are Seneca references in Ontario too. My sister has a friend who works at Seneca College, for instance. I found it a bit odd, however, to see Main Street crossed with Seneca — it’s like the collision of two worlds – settlers and First Nations – captured by a rather ordinary looking intersection.
